Why You Have Not Reached Your Money Making Goal Even Though You’ve Worked Hard For So Long…

Writing a book gives you total control over your financial destiny.

That’s a bold statement so let me back it up with a simple analogy about becoming an author, and then show you how you can become a best selling author in 28 days or less…

To get the most of writing a book, you simply need to understand the difference between these 2 people:

Person A: is told that they must work HARD, get a good job, work for years at that job… and then they might be able to live their dream.
How many of you work hard? I’ll bet everyone reading this works hard! How many of you are truly wealthy? That number is probably far less than the number of you who work hard…
What happened? Let me tell you what happened – “THEY” lied…

Now Person B: works SMART. Maybe they write a book and become an author, maybe they do a little research and learn how to market a book, maybe they take that a little further and get a publisher for their book.

I know you’ve heard other say that you need to work SMART, but in today’s concept working smart means … that you work only at things that will give you long term extra income whether you decide to continue working or not – like writing a book, or writing multiple books that sell and that have
longevity on the bookshelves so those books sell for many many years to come.

…and this is something that you can get started with little money, little experience, and right away!

At the end of your life are you going to be like person A or B.

Will you write your book or will you die with your book still inside your head?

What safety methods are you setting up now so you don’t have to worry about laying on your death bed thinking about all you’ve done in life and asking why that whole “Working Hard Thing’ didn’t pay off?

Who’s going to remember you in 10 years? What about 20 years after you’re gone, or 50 years? Are your great grandkids going to admire what you achieved while you lived? Are they going
to be able to use you as a role model…

Think about that for a moment because that was one of the most profound thoughts that was put into my head right before I wrote a book – in fact I wrote my first book with the goals of helping the greatest number of people possible - to outlive me and make my teachings live on way past the point of my lifespan – and to be an instruction guide for my children and their children and all my future generations.

How how many of you would like to get involved in a program like that?

You’ve mentioned the importance of working smart and not hard, but how much of your success as an author is a mental exercise too?

Can you see a difference in mental attitude between those that succeed and those that don’t?

The three stages of a book - writing, publishing and marketing is a very good way to describe how an idea starting in the head morph into a book that ended up in a bookstore. For me, I think the intermediate stage of publishing is the most difficult stage.

I think you hit it on the head there. I want to leave something behind that my grandkids can see and be proud of me for achieving, yes. I also want to do something that will impact in some way on another’s life in a positive manner. That’s why I write more than anything but if I can make money at the same time in a smart way without killing myself with overwork in the process, fantastic!

I get the feeling you’ve found the balance, Chris. I tip my hat to you for your great attitude, work ethic and energy.

Person one, reminds me of something I read in ‘Rich Dad Poor dad’ you know go to school get a good eductaion then a fine job, you are then able to buy the things you need and have status in life. But you have to keep working to enjoy all of this.

  5. Latty Says:

I remember that, but the Rich dad, taught hihm the real skills he would need to take any job or situation and turn it into a great product and having a great lifestyle.

  6. Kenny Says:

Working hard don’t really pay off because I have seen too many people who worked hard their whole life and then live like paupers at the end of it, so it has to be working smart, not hard.

  7. Flava Says:

I have a flurry of feelings inside that this is the year I am going to quit my dead end job and be able to spend some time with my kids and still enjoy a great life and be comfortable in retirement when it comes.

Another great post. It is imperative that you think long term. Put your ideas down on something so you do not lose it. In today’s society everybody thinks about the here and now, noone seems to understand that your financial success comes with time and patience and perserverance. This does not just apply to books, any successful man (or woman) will confirm this.

I agree. We get so caught up in the here and now, we have trouble looking ahead. There are a lot of things that I want to do, and still haven’t, and writing a book or several books are at the top of that list. I don’t want to keep looking back and thinking that I should have done this or that…..

  10. ghuraba_t Says:

A lot of people do not think long term because they are desperate to earn some thing right away. They get discouraged easily when they do not see any immediate results. I think people need to learn more patience as a whole. It keeps getting worse because with improving technology we are finding more things that can do things for us instantly and we are getting used to this kind of effect.

  11. alpha Says:

I agree that most of us need to think more about the long-term, but one thing to watch out for there is only thinking something will happen in the distant future. It’s important to start doing something today, even if the results will be a ways away.

I agree that we’re not supposed to believe the myth. That a writer is always writing all day long and died in the table, leaving all those story and research unfinished. If you do it right, you can right a book pretty fast, and still have some time to enjoy your live. Sometimes we have to struggle but we have to keep on going.

  13. attagirl Says:

I have to say that writing a book depends on a lot of factors and it can sometimes take a great length of time. In fact the more you write the easier it becomes to write and keep words flowing. But you have to be careful not to write the same things over and over. I think that when you are trying to be creative and say exactly what you want to say that it can take more time but the payoff is much higher as well. You have to take into consideration the the amount of time the complexity of the story and so on.
