Viral Articles

It’s amazing how fast Viral articles can produce leads and build your list.

Viral articles should take up to 25% of your marketing time.

Who does this:  You can do the articles or you can hire someone to do them for you, but you should not be in charge of distributing them (or your Podcasts – that takes too much time).

Get a virtual assistant (VA) or a $15 an hour person to surf the net and hold them accountable to posting no less than 10 plus articles each week.  Which means that in 10 weeks, you’ll have 100 articles posted – not 100 different articles, but 100 different places for your articles to appear.  This will automatically multiply as they sit in cyberspace and get passed around and automatically picked up by newsletter managers or webmasters looking for content, or other article submission sites looking for more articles to offer their customers.

This used to be a technique only used by those who had no marketing budget, but now it’s a staple in every bestsellers arsenal of marketing techniques.

Creating viral articles is as simple as paraphrasing your book into bite size 400 – 500 word articles, including a press line, a call to action, and a good contact info line – then mass distributing those articles.

The next generation to this amazing marketing tool is Podcasts, which opens you up to another entire population of buyers.  Both Podcasts and viral articles should be handled in the same fashion, in fact, many of my viral articles were simply converted into audio and posted on Podcast sites, with little or no alteration to the copy.

This viral article marketing really works. In submitting just 10 articles, I was absolutely amazed how my search engine traffic increased and my list grew.

Thanks for providing actual websites where we can submit articles.

You really give a ton of great information. THANKS!

Have you got any recommendations of where to find a good VA and/or article writer? I have been unhappy with the quality of most Elance providers for these jobs and would like to find another source. Your help is much appreciated.

The information provided is really comnprehensive and spot on. The benefical effects can be magnified many times with a good original article at hand. So I think it is important to get the basics right.

  4. drizzle Says:

I’ve tried writing articles in the past and it wasn’t the time involved in writing them that stopped me getting the most out of this tactic. It was the tedium of having to post them at various places that would put me off starting in the first place.

I never thought about outsourcing that part to someone else nor did I realize how much marketing time it should take up to really benefit from it!

I appreciate the links and advice. Thanks, Chris.

Ii think it’s always a good idea to outsource things you don’t want to do yourself or things aren’t really good at doing. (I’d outsource washing windows for instance)

As drizzle pointed out, sometimes you are really good at part of the process but not so good at the next part. Almost all jobs can be broken down into segments and there are a surprising number of people out there ready to do specific parts.

  6. Carol Says:

I have heard so much about article writing, but haven’t really tried it in a real way yet. I have wriiten a few for my private blog but nothing spectacular, so I need to get moving on this one.

  7. Latty Says:

I know, you hear article writing being touted as one the most effective BUM marketing technique. You can do so much with it and the beauty is you don’t have to do it all by yourself.

  8. Fabia Says:

What exactly is BUM marketing? I have seen the term a few times but nothing has really explained what it is really about. Can anyone do it?

  9. Stan Says:

BUM marketing, from what I read, is basically using free methods to get the word out about your website or your product. So if you don’t have much start up capital, there is still a way to succeed.

  10. Peter Says:

There are gurus who claim that they started off using these techniques and once they became established and had money coming in they were able to use paid advertising.

  11. Lily Says:

Email marketing which Chris is suggesting we use is also a BUM marketing technique I think. If handled correctly can be very effective in building your list and in turn produce a great earning.

  12. Fabia Says:

I see, I thought it was more complicated than that. I even though it was something I had to pay money to actually be effective. Thanks for the info.

This is a great way to market anything. If you want to get your voice heard and put your name out there, submit to article directories. A lot of times you can even use article submission software, which can make your job faster. The idea is the same as hiring someone. You want to outsource all the boring work so you can get your creative juices flowing.

Thank you so much for this complete list. I never even think that we have to hire someone, but then I come to think about it, and I guess you got the point. Writer is busy to write and sometimes, like what your article said, we have to delegate some jobs. Viral article directory can save more time and gain more traffic to our website.
